Event Overview:

Chukundi Salisbury, Tunde Salisbury, Jeff Staton, and Mike Oakley founded the Annual Virgo celebration in 1991. In 1998 La'Keith Asphy joined the event.  It began as a birthday party for the four principals, but has since grown to encompass much more.

Now entering our 11th Year, we have secured our place as Seattle's major R&B/Hip Hop event and a leader in promotions and event coordination. Over the years 10,000+ people have attended the event making it Seattle's Largest Annual R&B/Hip Hop event (that is not affiliated with or directly produced by a corporation or radio station). The event has sold out consistently for the past 9 years. The 1998 Virgo Party was held at the Union Station in downtown Seattle and it was filled to capacity (1000+). While many have tried to emulate the success of the Virgo, none have maintained the ANNUAL CONSISTENCY that it takes to amass a following such as ours.

The party itself is a virtual who's who of the Seattle scene and is always the hottest ticket in town. The event will feature a National Recording Artist as well as the Best in local R&B talent. Over the years Seattle's & Portland's hottest DJ's have pleased the crowd, including DJ KUN LUV, Funkdaddy, B-Mello, LOVESICK LARRY, DJ Supreme, Mista Rocaphella, Jimmy Jam, and Kutfather. Local and national VIP's have also made the VIRGO the place to be, including Gary Payton (Seattle Sonics), Shawn Springs (Seattle Seahawks), Karl Kani (Clothing Designer), Chris Warren (Dallas Cowboys) to name a few.  In 2001 Seaspot.com Founder, Chukundi Salisbury, launched Seaspot Magazine, to celebrate, it made sense to combine the launch party and the Virgo.  Now one year later, we are also celebrating the unparalleled success of the magazine as well as the Virgo.

This year will be no different as we take over Seattle's most prestigious and exclusive venue: The Experience Music Project. 

This year get your gear tight and your hair right because we are falling into the most EXCLUSIVE VENUE in WA state!!! The SKY CHURCH at the EMP (Seattle Center). If you have not been to the EMP`s Skychurch then you are in for a treat! Check out the 40ft Video wall and more at emplive.com. Tickets are only $20 (No high price,  just because we are in the hottest venue), and that is the same price they were in 1999! DRESS CODE will be enforced (when you see the venue, you will want to be dressed, believe me!). So get it together and make sure you are at the PARTY OF THE YEAR
