The LookThere will be a range of neutrals, from golden sunlit hues to wheat like colors, which will be the foundations for the rest of the spring colors. The color pallet will be warm. Colors like coral, salmon and pinks will be accenting browns and beiges. Designers will also be using dusty pales, lively brites, plaids, pleats, ruffles, polka dots, stripes and tie-dyes. Black and white will be in graphic form and full of surprises. Expect to see lots more safari, beading, rhinestones, studs and glitter, which will accent and add the finishing touches to garments. As for fabrics, it’s all about the natural. The season will be saturated with denim - pants, skirts, button down shirts, swim suits, pant suits, skirt suit and so on. Pink denim with be high in demand. You will also see denim with different color stitching and lots of top stitching in various styles and directions. Also , linen, cotton, knit, lace, silk, leather, suede and fur. Yes, I said "fur." You will see all types of fur and fur collaborating with denim and leather garments this season. Where style is concerned, I would encourage you to let your imagination explore endless creative possibilities of your self concept. Be yourself, customize, dare to be different, stand out among crowds, that tend to blend together. At the same time, don’t get carried away - use discretion. The trends this spring will be neat, crisp, and precise and matched suiting looks and let’s not leave the military look out. Expect to see lots more low rise, hip hugging, form fitted pants, with matching tops, whether it be a shirt ; bikini top; or a jacket. There will be a lot of exposure to the mid section. This trend is only for people in shape, so please get it right before you decide to represent. From what I have learned about what to expect to see in day-wear, the look will be more sexy and sophisticated.
You may be wondering what a person’s wardrobe with a hectic schedule should consist of this spring. My suggestion is to keep your style consistent and streamlined. Each piece in your wardrobe must be able to go from the plane or the train, to the grocery store, to the office, to meeting at your child’s school. Invest in pieces that are timeless, with a jazzy twist. Each purchase you make, should be incorporated with at least 2-3 pieces in your existing wardrobe. That way you are able to rotate your fits and there is a lot more variety for you to choose from. Dressier-lady like dresses will be the big thing this season. As well as wrap dresses, shirt dresses, layered dresses, leather dresses in assorted colors and design lines. Ralph Lauren has a gorgeous line of leather this spring. As far as blouses go, they will vary from the blousey blouse, which will be a much softer look, to the military blouse, which will be more of a precise cut, with a masculine edge. You will also see lots of sheer blouses and blouses tied in the front, like back in the day. Vests are back. Vest will be in a variety of lengths, cuts, styles and fabrics. Coats will be light weight, of course and will vary in lengths, anywhere from crop jackets to 3/4 lengths. Coats will be featured in denim, leather, suede, cotton and stretch cotton, just to name a few. Coats will be in bright bold colors, as well as neutrals and jazzy graphic prints with exciting linings. Depending on your geographical location you will see suede jackets with the matching bikinis. I doubt if you will see it here in Seatown. Jumpsuits are making a come back in lots of different lengths, cuts, and styles. Look out fellas! Cause the hot pants are coming in all types of fabrics and vibrant colors, not to mention, the classic denim. They will be worn with hot tops like baby T’s, tube tops, and off the shoulder shirts, bikini tops, maxi coats, 3/4 length coats, crop top, wrap shirts, I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. Remember ladies, hot pants are not for everybody. So if it don’t fit, PLEASE do us a favor and don’t force it. Swimsuits will be more creative, daring, sexier, sophisticated and yet more playful than ever. For the hottie that just wants to look good, but not get wet, that is where the fur, feathers, leather, pony hare, rhinestones and studs will come into to play. This particular line is called pool side wear.
As for the men, keep it crisp, clean and practical The straight and narrow - tailored two and three button suits will be the look. When it is time to get casual, "keep it casual." Denim, neutrals, whites, solids and even bold prints will look hot on the men. Accent your fits with subtle jewelry and belts - a bracelet, a unique ring is very classic. Solid color accessories are very stylish. Also remember gents, grooming is also a fashion statement. There is nothing like a well groomed man. That goes for the ladies as well. Since spring is just around the corner, it is time to start working on our feet, as well as our nails. One of the first thing people look at is your feet, if they are exposed. Accessories are crucial. They
complete and keep your fits current. From the hat, to the bag, to the
belt, to the shoes. Here is little tip. Shoes add the finishing touches to
your fit. You could be wearing a gorgeous dress and the wrong pair of
shoes - your outfit is ruined. So be careful....And if you are not sure,
you better ask somebody!!! Dee Dee-N-Me designs
