5 Prolific Years
By Bear
Five years, that's a long time to hold it down in the Seattle scene. But that's exactly what Prolific Records has been doing, consistently hosting some of the dopest regular Hip Hop nights in the region.
Starting out at Old Timer's and moving here and there for a few years - Rock Bottom and Vito's - Prolific really put their name on the map when they started Hollywood Nights at Planet Hollywood. Now hosting nights at Mr. Lucky and Rocksalt, Prolific has set a high standard for anybody following in their footsteps.
Now Prolific, started by partners Aaron Byers, Floyd Wade, DJ Supa Sam and Devon Jackson, is throwing down in a big way the weekend of April 8-10 at three different clubs, all of it broadcast live on KUBE 93.
Thursday the 8th, head over to Club 722 on Capitol Hill, on Friday the 9th catch the heat at Mr. Lucky and Saturday the 10th get fitted in your flyest gear and get over to Rocksalt.
Beats will be provided by local favorites like B-Mello, Supa Sam, KUBE's Eddie Francis, in addition former Seattle local Damon Knight - now with LA's 92.3 JAMZ, and Phat Pharm in-house DJ TayRok will be in the building tearing it down. If that isn't enough, just remember, Prolific has managed to attract some of the biggest ballers in any game, Russel Simmons, DJ Clue and Shaq Daddy, just to name a few, so you know the hottest names in town are gonna be kickin' it.
When Seaspot talked to Byers, he wanted to make sure to thank everyone who has supported Prolific in the past, including Seaspot founder Chukundi Salisbury. He also said that lines are gonna be long, so get there early and get it on.
