Livio's First Album, My Life Vol. 1

Don't Call It A Comeback...

Livio Is On The Way

by Bryant "Bboy" Worthing

If you take a listen to any of Livio's music its easy to tell that his punch lines are saucy. Now three years after releasing his debut album, the Northwest young gun is back on the scene as part of the new Funk Daddy produced album In Tha Mix.

It hasn't really been a hiatus for Livio, he has just been caught up in switching labels. The dude still has three times the bars as Pioneer Square does even though it was rumored Liv was M.I.A., and not where the Dolphins play.

Liv spoke like he is tough on himself about not putting out much of his work after his 2001 album My Life Vol.1. His first album had a ton of hype surrounding it with several top-notch cameo appearances such as D-12 and Noreaga.

"I feel like I really have not done enough. I need to f*** with a lot of n***** that is putting stuff out because you've got to," Livio said. "I got the album done right now, but it's not as done as it needs to be. I just want to perfect it and go about it the right way putting it out properly."

In the near future Livio will also be dropping his sophomore joint currently named Cruel Intentions, which his following and the rest of the northwest hip-hop scene are already anticipating.

While many folks assumed and speculated that Liv had big beef with his former executive producer Amir, that's over and it's all good including the newest joint Livio is spittin' on.

"That whole shit with me and Amir was just a big ass speed-bump. As far as everything else, it's all gravy, it's all the same rappers as it was before, same Funk Daddy, Mass and Liv," Livio explained. "After the whole Pak Pros thing it's not like we all broke up or fell out, it's just that shit didn't work out. But everyone that was even in it with us then, we're still cool now."

The In Tha Mix record features 20 songs with a lot of flavor sponsored by the veteran touch Funk Daddy provides. In edition to Liv the disc also features a talented variety of cats such as Liv's brother Mass, Mr. Rossi, S.K., Playa Lo and Young Thyn. X-104 FM has already been playing the cut "Get em' Boy" Livio's solo cut.

"I try to make music for everybody. And on this album you can expect so many different types of music; for street n*****, hustlers, gangsters, women, club music - it's hot and it is somewhat of a commercial album cause there so much s*** on it."

While In Tha Mix is still searching for the right distribution deal to spread its sound to other regions outside of Puget Sound, it will be available online and in local stores according to Livio.

"It's on us to make [In Tha Mix] the biggest thing in the town," explained Livio. "I could sit here and have all types of music on I-tunes with Liv, Mass and Funk and it could be the hottest thing on earth, but I can't bring everybody to the computer. If they don't know about it you're not hot, you're just tight."

With that attitude and the hot lyrics smothered with Funk's beats Livio and his whole crew are on a serious mission and not missing in action.
