beware cuz Topspin is hittin’ y’all with the 2x4. Matter
fact, the The 2X4 + 1 More. One of the 206’s top DJ’s,
Topspin is back with his latest installment of the Double
Decker 2 CD series. This mixtape features Hip-Hop, Reggae,
and R&B joints along with exclusive joints, and a couple
freestyles as well.
The first CD features bangers like the “Made U Look” remix and
“Don’t Make A Wrong Move” with Snoop, Prodigy from Mobb Deep,
and Special Ed. Y’all remember Special Ed right- “I’m your
idol, the highest title, numero uno…”- that was the joint back
in the days. Other new tracks include material from
Blackstreet featuring Mystikal, Floetry, Fabolous featuring
Paul Cain, and Lil’Kim. Not to mention exclusives from Phat
Kat reppin’ Detroit’s Slum Village crew, and local heat from
Infinite and Candit. 206 artist Maniac B sets off Disc 2 with
a freestyle joint over Just Blaze’s instrumental for “U Don’t
Know”. The 2nd disc also includes hot new tracks
from Styles P and Lil’ Mo, underground joints from Zion I with
Aceyalone, and some dancehall flavor from the likes of Sean
Paul and Shaggy. Disc 2 also includes the hard to find
collabo with 50 Cent, Eminem, and B.I.G. If you’re looking
for some down south flavor, check for the two tracks from
Devin Tha Dude. Heads will definitely wanna check out the 2
bonus cuts for some new unreleased tracks. Top seamlessly
blends Top 40 songs with club bangers and underground joints,
making The 2X4 + 1 More one of the better mixtapes you
can cop this side of New York. Instead of recycling the same
songs you hear on the radio everyday, Top throws in some nice
material from lesser-known artists as well. Top’s skills on
the 1’s & 2’s are first rate too, so make sure you get your
hands on a copy of The 2X4 + 1 More.
