New
Edition close to being Bad Boys
Before N Sync or Backstreet, New Edition was the boy band back in
the days. The re-united group, which includes Mike Bivins, Ralph
Tresvant, Johnnie Gill, Rickie Bell, and Ronnie DeVoe is close to
signing with P. Diddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment. Although the deal is
yet to be confirmed, Puff is working with New Edition on their 20th
anniversary LP set for a 2003 release.
More 3LW Drama
Former 3LW member Naturi Naughton filed a lawsuit in US District
Court claiming that she was pressured to sleep with one of the St.
Lunatics in order to secure a tour with Nelly and crew. The suit was
filed against ex-groupmates Adrienne Bailon and Kiely Williams,
along with Big Cat Management for an undisclosed amount.
Jigga
biting Toni Braxton?
Both Toni Braxton and Jay-Z have chosen to sample 2Pac’s “Me and My
Girlfriend” for singles on their upcoming albums. After hearing
Hova’s “’03 Bonnie & Clyde” (which also features Beyonce’ Knowles),
Braxton was reportedly “insulted and disappointed”. Jay-Z refuted
this claim, and even expressed his interest in working with the R&B
diva on the song. Braxton’s version, “Me and My Boyfriend, was
produced by Murder INC’s Irv Gotti and Chink Santana. My point is
that both artists bit Pac’s song, so how can one accuse the other of
biting?
Bizzy Back in Harmony with Bone
Bizzy Bone is back with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony a couple weeks after
getting ousted from the group for passing out onstage during a show
in New York. Bizzy went in to detox for a couple weeks to sober up,
and is set to rejoin the group next week for the second leg of the
Grey Goose Tour. Check for Bone’s new album Thug World Order on
October 29th, and look for them in concert in Portland on November
1st and Seattle on the 2nd. Don’t forget to hit up the Seaspot
calendar for details.
