Eminem Hit With Defamation Lawsuit
The legal
troubles continue for Em, as he will have to appear in court next
month to face a defamation lawsuit. The suit was filed by 32-year
old DeAngelo Bailey, who claims he was “defamed” by Em in the song
“Brain Damage” off the Slim Shady LP. Em recalls how Bailey
was a bully who routinely beat him up during their childhood years
in school together. Bailey alleges that the song ruined his
potential music career, and caused him embarrassment. The suit is
said to be for over $1 million. Efforts to reach a settlement fell
through, and the trial is set to start on May 30th in
Macomb County, MI.
Ja Rule Bites Back At 50, Dre,
Others
The lil’ guy gets
some retaliation, revenge, and get back like Daz Dillinger on a
freestyle joint that appears on DJ Clue’s latest mixtape, “Operation
Desert Storm 2.” Ja has some choice words for 50 Cent, Dre, Eminem,
Lil’ Mo, Busta Rhymes, and Chris Lighty. Rule spits “Gay
Dre Young/ Suge told me you used to take transvestites home/ ... No
wonder Feminem be cross-dressing in pumps and tight little
dresses.” 50 Cent also takes verbal stabs at Chris Lighty & Busta
Rhymes about the Violator shootouts, Lil’ Mo, and Truth Hurts.
Funk Flex Cops Guilty Plea On Assault Case
The hardest
working DJ in the game was cited for a harassment violation in an
assault case he caught for allegedly smacking fellow NYC radio
personality Steph Lova. Flex will have to serve 35 hours of
community service, but the harassment violation will not go on his
record. Steph Lova still has a pending civil suit against Flex for
over $5 million.
K-Ci & Jo-Jo
Facing Tax Evasion Charges
The former Jodeci
singers were arrested after performing in their home state of North
Carolina for failing to pay taxes. K-Ci was cited for not paying
state taxes in 1999 & 2000, while his brother Jo-Jo missed ’99,
2000, & 2001. Both brothers deny knowing that they owed back taxes
to the state. That goes to show you, if you get rich y’all, make
sure you hire a good accountant.
