DMX, Suge Knight, 50 Cent Arrested

In three separate incidents, DMX, Suge Knight, and 50 Cent were on the wrong side of the law this past week.  X was charged with unsafe lane changing, producing a forged document (fake ID), and failure to signal.  All this occurred when X was pulled over in Harrison, NY on Christmas Eve for driving recklessly.  To make matters worse, X was denied entry into Canada to perform at two concerts.  X was slated to do shows in Calgary and Saskatoon, but was not let in by our friendly neighbors up north.  No reason was given, but six other peeps in X’s entourage were able to get through customs while the Dog was detained in a holding cell.

Knight was arrested last Monday for violating parole.  The violations stem from Knight allegedly associating with a known gang member, and for not doing a background check for a security guard he hired.  Both allegations are in violation of Knight’s parole.  Tha Row’s head honcho is currently locked up in the L.A. County Jail pending a court hearing.

Queens MC 50 Cent was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a firearm.  The arrest happened early Tuesday morning when 50 and members of his G Unit crew pulled up outside an NYC club where they were scheduled to perform.  The NYPD (who was waiting outside in an unmarked taxi cab) cited 50’s rented SUV for double parking, and noticed two handguns inside the vehicle.

Judge Blocks Slick Rick’s Deportation

Slick Rick will get more time to fight for his right to stay in the U.S. after a federal judge blocked his deportation.  Any non-citizen who serves more than 5 years in prison can be deported.  Rick served 5 years and 12 days.  The judge’s ruling will hopefully allow Rick’s lawyers to prove why he should get to stay in America.  Despite this positive event, Rick is still locked up in Florida pending the outcome.

Eve Getting Blackmailed?

An unidentified male apparently has an explicit picture of Eve getting down with two other females.  The owner of the picture has been trying to sell it to various radio stations with no luck.  Eve does not deny that such a picture could exist, explaining that it could have been from her short stint as an exotic dancer.

New LL Commercial Gives Props To JMJ

A new Dr. Pepper commercial featuring LL Cool J gives tribute to Run DMC and Jam Master Jay.  Ironically, the ad was filmed before JMJ was murdered.  The spot will feature LL rhyming about the legendary Hip-Hop pioneers, specifically giving props to JMJ.  The commercial will debut during the NFL playoffs on January 18th -19th.  In other JMJ news, Adidas is planning to release a special edition of their shell toe shoes in his honor.  The shells will feature JMJ’s face on the tongue, and “JMJ” emblazoned on the sides.  Jay’s sons came up with the design, and proceeds will go to JMJ’s Scratch Academy in New York.

Foxy Brown Wanted By Jamaican Authorities

Jamaican police issued an arrest warrant for Foxy for missing a court date from July.  Fox had a run-in with a female officer at the Norman Manley Airport, and was supposed to appear in court because of the incident.  Foxy claims that the officer thought she was a drug runner, and was not even aware of her court date.

Master P Forced To Give Up Some Ghetto D

D as in dollars…after a California judge ruled that P has to pay over $100, 000 in punitive damages to an 80-year old lady for sampling her voice in a song.  Geneva Burger’s voice was sampled from a recorded phone conversation in which she was asked about the addictive nature of marijuana.  Burger’s voice was featured on the song “No Limit” from Magic’s 1998 album Sky’s The Limit.  The old lady was shocked to find out that her voice was sampled on a gangsta rap album.  So does that mean it would’ve been all gravy if Garth Brooks had sampled it?  P was not the only one who had to shell out some dough.  Snoop had a verse on “No Limit” and was forced to pay $75,000, while Priority Records (No Limit’s distributor) had to pay $300,000.
