The Protected Class of Bigots
By Ambra Nykol

There are many unwritten rules in politics. With the exception of Hillary Clinton, most political figures have always been subjected to the undercurrent rules of dos and don'ts that govern our nation's politics. One of such rules states that if you are black and you are conservative, you are a target for racial defamation. This rule also states that if such epithets and bigotry come from the Left, they don't qualify as racist.

Indeed, the Left-Wing Conspiracy of America has made it widely known that they are not in favor of people of color that refuse to bow down to the John F. Kennedy altar. The rise of more prominent conservative blacks to positions of influence in politics has spurred a rise in coon-calling and slave references throughout the media and beyond.

When President Bush appointed National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice to replace Colin Powell as Secretary of State, it was no surprise to anyone that the mental midgets with two-celled brains would crawl from under their cushy penthouse rocks to display some typical elite Liberal, double-minded bigotry.

Following Rice's appointment, John "Sly" Sylvester, a white radio talk show host in Madison, Wisconsin (as if Wisconsin had something other than white radio talk show hosts), called her an "Aunt Jemima" on the air. And when it went down syrup-style, there wasn't a peep from Al Sharpton, or NAACP Board Chairman, Julian Bond. If truth be told, Bond would have been more likely to publicly co-sign on Sylvester's epithet than condemn it.

It was only a few months ago that both Jeff Danzinger, who sketched Rice as a semi-literate mammy, and Ted Rall, whose illustration referred to Rice as Bush's "House Nigga," offensively caricatured Dr. Rice in cartoons. Both cartoonists are syndicated and featured in major newspapers across the country.

If Cox & Forkum, a conservative cartoon strip were to consider using the term "nigga," no matter what the context, the collective extortionists at the NAACP would have coronaries and begin accusations of the reinstatement of the Confederacy. But when such hate comes from the Left, it's almost always excusable.

Generally, the brouhaha stirred up by inappropriate cartoons like those of Danzinger, Rall, and more recently, Pat Oliphant and Gary Trudeau, create enough of a stir that the comics get pulled and the cartoonists still get their fifteen minutes of fame. Unfortunately, the fact that these high-fallutin' yuppie trolls think themselves arbiters of black authenticity is somewhat of an anomaly considering their perpetual claims that the Right is the Ku Klux Klan.

Amid the backlash for such bigotry, the Left is usually half-heartedly apologetic.

When syndicated cartoonist Jeff Danzinger's cartoon portrayal of Rice with big lips and bucked teeth rubbed readers the wrong way, he released a statement in which he exercised true Liberal Apologetics by denying the cartoon as inappropriate, claiming it "was suggested to me by a friend who is African-American." Yes, he pulled out the "I have black friends" card (and don't we all). Perhaps someone should tell Danzinger that defense is so 40 years ago.

Since Rice's new position was announced, the hypocrites have had their field day in a number of different racially themed comics. There is nothing new under sun. It is however interesting that we rarely see the black solidarity saviors of the Left stepping in and correcting such blatant stereotypical depictions of their own race. It took the NAACP one whole week to deliberate on whether or not they'd come out publicly to denounce such treatment of Rice.

Take this example of double-mindedness:

Perhaps you may recall a few years ago when a Toyota ad featured their new Rav-4 SUV etched into the gold tooth of black man. Their attempts to be stereotypically "edgy" outraged Rainbow/PUSH leader Jesse Jackson. Immediately thereafter, Jackson's organization threatened to boycott and picket the Toyota Company, claiming that because the ads appeared in places frequented by mostly whites, the purpose was intended to solely amuse whites.

Well okay then. What's say we apply that logic to the situations at hand?

It's clear what majority of the population the Washington Post, The New York Times, and most unmistakably, a Wisconsin radio show are serving. They're serving the lily-white crowd. By application of such logic, we can deduce that such vulgarity towards Rice in particular can only be chalked up to the amusement of white people.

How does Jackson feel about that? Typically, Rainbow/PUSH has been nowhere to be found in any of these instances, but thankfully (and quite shockingly) exiting NAACP President Kweisi Mfume released a statement where he "denounced critics of Secretary of State nominee Condoleezza Rice who have resorted to the use of racial slurs and ethnic stereotypes."

However late it may have been, at least the NAACP covered their partisan butts and said something for consistency's sake. Unfortunately, this doesn't change the obvious fact that to be black and deviate (or even question) bloodline democrat values in this country is to be a masochist.

As if it's not enough to have white yuppies (with black friends) calling you a sell-out, the black-on-black contempt has taken a turn for the worse. Double-minded hateration is the name of this game. The evidence is quite explicit.
