What's up Grinders, as a lot of you know I'm out in California for the 2010 BET Awards trying to get the scoop and give you the play by play of the behind the scenes action that goes down before and after the awards show. This years show should be one of the best shows in a long time. The vibe backstage in the days before the actual show is amazing as you can see your favorite artist smiling, kicking it, and enjoying their time together. I sat down w/ Stephen Hill who gave me the scoop on this year's BET Awards. 

"Its great! Having Drake, hottest in the world, Trey Songz, hottest in the world. Nicki Minaj, hottest in the world, DJ Kahled and his crew, are on fire. Theres so many elements that it's just on fire. And the BET Awards are dependent on the musicians and the acts."

It's been two years since Usher made an appearance at the BET Awards, but as his performance proved this year, the time off was more than worth the wait.

Though audiences expected him to perform his biggest smash hit, "OMG" featuring will.i.am, Usher went the complete opposite. Instead, he went for the slow jam hit of his current album "Raymond vs. Raymond" album and performed "There Goes My Baby". Backed by a full orchestra, Usher sang like he had something to prove, but we don't think anybody would've been mad if he danced like he had something to prove too.

T.I. taking the stage at the BET Awards started off his set with "it's been awhile."  Yes, it has and we are glad the King of The South is back.  With Travis Barker controlling the tempo of the live band and fire coming out of the stage, T.I. rocked a new joint that we are hearing is called "You Know."

Now that the King is back, it is great to see the hip-hop heavyweights all together in one awards show.  All we need now is Lil Wayne to get out of Rikers.  Until then, enjoy T.I.'s performance and definitely look out for his new movie, The Takers, which looks dope.

Sen. Robert Byrd of West Virginia, a fiery orator versed in the classics and a hard-charging power broker who steered billions of federal dollars to the state of his Depression-era upbringing, died Monday. He was 92.

A spokesman for the family, Jesse Jacobs, said Byrd died peacefully at about 3 a.m. at Inova Hospital in Fairfax, Va. He had been in the hospital since late last week.

At first Byrd was believed to be suffering from heat exhaustion and severe dehydration, but other medical conditions developed. He had been in frail health for several years.

Byrd, a Democrat, was the longest-serving senator in history, holding his seat for more than 50 years. He was the Senate's majority leader for six of those years and was third in the line of succession to the presidency, behind House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a fellow West Virginian in the Senate, said it was his "greatest privilege" to serve with Byrd.

Venus Williams has been receiving a lot of praise about her outfit choices, as of late. After wearing flesh-toned shorts beneath a skimpy dress at the Australian Open, Venus’ next move was a Tina Turner-inspired dress.

For her match against Rossana De Los Rios from Paraguay, the five-time Wimbledon champion wore a short, white fringe dress that she said was inspired by Tina Turner’s famous dress – the one that every one thinks of when they hear “Proud Mary”.

When asked about her choice of dress, Venus said, “I love Tina Turner. Obviously, she’s just an amazing, amazing artist, just a survivor. She reinvented herself and she looks great. I’ve loved her forever. So this dress is really inspired by her.”

The Vader Project is an amazing art collection that features 100 customized Darth Vader helmets. The best underground artist from all around the country have participated in the collection and this summer The Vader Project is releasing the final chapter of the collection. The project launched in 2007 and has since travelled internationally and throughout the states.

It is amazing to see how each artist use the same canvas but create something so unique bringing the helmet to life in totally different ways. The final chapter of the collection will be viewed an auctioned off in July. Check out further details here.

In other Kardashian news, Kourtney has been blogging about breastfeeding her son, Mason. Which is interesting, because Kim just got herself into a bit of Twitter-trouble when she tweeted that she was grossed out by a woman openly breastfeeding her baby in public without a cover-up.

Baby Mason is now six months old and Kourtney just began feeding him solid foods. However, she doesn’t plan to wean Mason cold-turkey, saying she’ll give him breastmilk as long as he wants it.

 Reputed gang leader Christopher "Dudus" Coke, who eluded a bloody police offensive in his slum stronghold last month, was arrested Tuesday by authorities outside Jamaica's capital, the island's top cop said.

Coke has been called one of the world's most dangerous drug lords by U.S. authorities and faces trial in New York on drug and arms trafficking charges. His arrest came nearly a month after 76 people were killed during a four-day assault by police and soldiers on the West Kingston slum of Tivoli Gardens, which is Coke's base.

At a news conference, Police Commissioner Owen Ellington said Coke was in good condition in police custody. He provided few specifics, saying that "the circumstances of (Coke's) arrest are being investigated."

Jamaican news media had reported Coke turned himself in. But the Rev. Al Miller, an influential evangelical preacher who facilitated the surrender of Coke's brother earlier this month, told The Associated Press that Coke was prepared to surrender to authorities at the U.S. Embassy in Kingston when police stopped his convoy on a highway outside the capital.

"A contact was made on his behalf that he wanted to give himself in," Miller said. "I therefore made arrangements with his lawyers because he wanted to go ahead with the extradition process, so we communicated with the U.S. Embassy because that's where he would feel more comfortable."

Miller said police captured Coke on the way to the embassy and then took him to the nearby Spanish Town police headquarters. He was then flown to Kingston, the preacher said.

Last month, a U.S. law enforcement official in New York, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Associated Press that a lawyer for Coke was in negotiations with the U.S. Justice Department about his client's possible safe removal to New York to face charges.

The Green Hornet movie is set to hit theaters in January 2011, starring "Knocked Up" star Seth Rogan, the installment of "The Green Hornet" looks like it's going to be fun time at the movies.

Seth jumps in this role with the same enthusiasm he did with "Pineapple Express" no weed in this joint though, well at least they don't show any in the trailer, however there is green smoke. The movie looks dope and different from the T.V. show and just like the T.V. show Kato  saves The Green Hornets life on every occasion. Take a look at the trailer.
