Michael Solomon appeared in Richmond court Monday morning facing an abduction charge.
Solomon was arrested Friday on weapons and failure to pay child support charges.He is now accused of abducting his girlfriend's 2-year-old son.

That child was found wandering alone in a Chesterfield County apartment complex last week. The child is believed to now be in the custody of his biological father.

The body of the child's mother, Tameka Claiborne, was found Friday morning along the James River. Police have yet to charge anyone with Claiborne's murder, however investigators tell CBS 6 Solomon will likely be charged with that crime in the coming days.

Claiborne, 27, had been missing since Tuesday, and police say her death is being investigated as a murder.

The body was stumbled upon yesterday morning by a Chesterfield chimney sweep who was working at a cottage in the 7000 block of Westover Rd. near the Westover Plantation.

Maurice Clarett, After three-and-a-half years in prison, will return to Columbus -- but not the football field.

Ohio State has granted Clarett re-entry to its College of Education and Human Ecology -- a program which he originally enrolled in 2002. That year proved to be Clarett's last at the university, as he helped the Buckeyes to a national championship before being suspended from the program for filing a false police report.

Despite his Ohio State obstacles, Clarett conquered doubters temporarily. He left the 2005 NFL draft board on day one, going to the Denver Broncos in the third round when many slotted him as a sixth-round selection at best. But more legal troubles kept the running back from ever taking a snap on the field.

The Columbus Dispatch writes that Clarett was originally hit with a seven-and-a-half year penalty for charges of aggravated robbery and carrying a concealed weapon. Clarett took classes during his prison sentence, and even operated a blog to help others grow from his transgressions.

That helped lead to an early release in April 2010, where the Dispatch report notes that Clarett told the judge about his plans complete his college degree and operate a gym for geriatric individuals. With Ohio State's blessing, step one is off and running.

Freelance director Philip Heron and photographer and videographer, James Adair came together to create this jaw-droppingly cool video. Using a Photron SA1.1, “a high speed camera for slow motion analysis,” they created their “Tempus II” video. It’s seven minutes of everyday items being smashed, shot and knocked over in slow motion, and then breaking apart at rapid speed.

The end result can only be described as captivating. Heron and Adair took an egg breaking apart on a mousetrap, a pot smashing on the ground, and a Jello mold being shot with what looks like a BB gun bullet and made it all look epic.

Not again, Oil is spewing from a damaged well north of a bay where officials have been fighting the spill from the BP disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Coast Guard says a tow boat called Pere Ana C. hit the wellhead near Mud Lake early Tuesday. No injuries were reported.

The Coast Guard did not know who owns the small well or how much oil has leaked. But a sheen has been spotted in the lake. Jefferson Parish Councilman Chris Roberts says oil is spewing from the wellhead.

Coast Guard Lt. Brian Sattler says a helicopter has been dispatched to survey the area, which is accessible only by boat.

Owners Alan Pierce and Gary Miller weren't too enthusiastic about giving the so-called 'next Madonna' a slot to perform at The Round-Up Saloon back in summer 2008; Lady Gaga was far from the average act that excited their clientele. Nevertheless, Pierce and Miller gave Gaga a chance, and she played a few songs for the saloon's patrons. 

Two years later, the international superstar found herself back in Dallas as part of her world tour, and dropped by the saloon for a drink, fresh off the stage at the American Airlines Center. She still had the belt buckle the bar owners gave her back when she was an unknown aspiring artist. Though the majority of the crowd was far from her average fanbase, with their gray hair and cowboy boots, she (and her 15+ entourage) was still received warmly, and booked out the roof area to celebrate her whirlwind success with the bar's regular's that had supported her when she was just beginning.

The city of New York has agreed to pay more than $7 million to settle a civil lawsuit stemming from the fatal 50-bullet police shooting of an unarmed man on his wedding day.

The settlement filed in Brooklyn federal court on Tuesday pays $3.25 million to the estate of Sean Bell, who was killed in 2006 outside a strip club in Queens while leaving his bachelor party. As part of the settlement, the city agreed to pay $3 million to Joseph Guzman and $900,000 to Trent Benefield, both of whom were wounded in the shooting that killed their friend.

The lawsuit had accused the city of wrongful death, negligence, assault and civil rights violations.

"We hope that all parties can find some measure of closure by this settlement," the city's attorney, Michael A. Cardozo, said in a statement.

An attorney for the plaintiffs, Scott Rynecki, said the settlement was hard-fought over two days and that the plaintiffs felt it was the best outcome possible.

"I think it was all about closure at this point," Rynecki told The Associated Press in a phone interview.

Three police officers were acquitted of manslaughter and other charges in 2008. Federal authorities in February declined to bring civil rights charges against them.

The officers remain on modified duty and are facing departmental charges that could result in their dismissal.

The Bell settlement follows other multimillion-dollar payouts in high-profile civil lawsuits involving the police department.

In June, the city agreed to pay a record for a civil rights lawsuits when it agreed to settle for $9.9 million with Barry Gibbs, an innocent man who spent 19 years in prison after being framed by a police detective.

In 2001, the city and police union agreed to pay $8.7 million to Abner Louima, who was beaten and sodomized with a broomstick in a police precinct by officers. After legal fees, Louima was left with about $5.8 million.

Three teens have been charged with murder in the beating death of a 47-year-old Salvadoran immigrant,Abelino Mazaniego, in the upscale community of Summit, N.J.

Not only that, but authorities say the teens also filmed the attack using a phone video-camera, and then circulated the video among teenagers in the town.

To add still further insult to injury, as the father of four, Abelino Mazaniego, clung to life, a nurse in the emergency room allegedly helped himself to the $640.00 that was in the victim's wallet.

Khayri Williams-Clark, 18, Nigel Dumas, 19, and an unidentified 17-year-old were arrested July 21, one day after the victim died, and have been charged with murder rather than manslaughter, which was the original charge.

Nurse Stephan Randolph, 39, allegedly the took money out of Mazaniego's wallet, and is charged with third-degree theft.

Mazaniego had just finished his restaurant shift the evening of July 17 and was relaxing on a bench when three young men, ages 17, 18, 19, approached and decided to attack the man for no apparent reason.

Shay UK Bombshell aka Kanye West's New Girlfriend took to her twitter page to discuss her dislikes for liars. Not being able to tolerate liars is nothing new for Shay. In an interview when revealing her type she listed honesty as a very important quality saying "I love a nice smile, good skin, GREAT dress sense..." Little Jasiah McCollins was upstairs at two o’clock Sunday morning when someone broke into the home on the 9900 block of Winthrop on the city’s west side. A Molotov cocktail was thrown into the window, Jasiah died in the fire that was believed to be intentionally set.

A 17 year-old babysitter, who was inside at the time of the blaze, told reporters she was with a four year-old girl downstairs, while Jasiah was sleeping upstairs. The teen says she heard a bang from the kitchen and seconds later saw a man inside pouring something on the kitchen floor.

Aimee L. Sword, a 36-year-old who lives in a suburb outside of Detroit has been sentenced to nine to 30 years in prison for having sex with her biological son, whom she had given up for adoption and later tracked down on Facebook. He was 14 at the time.

Sword, who worked at a department store makeup counter already is married and has 5 other children. Sword's lawyer told the Detroit Free Press, "Aimee's searching for a reason why this happened. She can't understand it. She's going to get some counseling." Only a lawyer would try to defend this woman and her actions.
